In the final lesson of the unit, students will reflect on their transformative journey through the book and explore the powerful theme of ‘the healing story’. Through analysing impactful excerpts from the book, students will gain insight into cultural knowledge and impact of the story. The aim for students is to deeply understand the purpose of the book, the importance of cultural knowledge in building connections and healing. By the end of the lesson, students will have a deeper understanding of their own stories and how they fit into the larger circle of connection and belonging with Indigenous Australia. This final lesson solidifies the students' understanding of the book's purpose and the significance of sharing stories for understanding one's identity and creating a more connected and healed nation/country.
